Although international cookery is currently experiencing an unprecedented popularity, sometimes it can be a bit tricky to source ingredients that are specific to other geographical regions.

A huge continent, with a great diversity of regional cuisines, African groceries can sometimes be very difficult to get hold of unless you know exactly where to go. From your experience, where are the best spots in Perth to purchase traditional African grocery items? Do they specialise in a particular region or culture, or do they stock items from all around the continent? Where do you recommend?

Depends on the type of African goods you are after, however there are a fair amount of South African shops in Perth - namely Kalahari in Willeton and Out of African in Osborne Park!
There is a shop called African Heritage in Duncraig however that is the only one I have ever been to.

It is foods from South Africa and I came across it by accident as do not normally buy this food.

Ive been to one called African Variety Store on Albany Hwy, Gosnells. They seem to sell traditional groceries and body care items. I buy my beans and lentils in bulk from there.
