There are so many running events, competitions and fun runs in Perth each year that attract hundreds and thousands of runners. With this in mind where is the best place to go running for pleasure and fitness in Perth?

Have you got a favourite running track that you'd recommend to others?

My favourite spot is around Lake Monger. Though it can get quite busy, it is still a very popular place and I know I can run the 3km distance. It is great for older kids on their bikes as well.
Thanks Harry! Is it a surfaced running path suitable for prams or rollerblades?
Running along the beach is very pleasant. You can use either the duel-purpose paths (for cyclists and pedestrians) that follow the beach or actually run on the beach itself, although that can be a bit of a challenge. If the weather is warm enough, you can follow your run with a refreshing swim in the ocean.
Until recently, I have really enjoyed running around Lake Joondalup. However, there have been too many snake sightings recently, and whilst this I am sure makes me run faster, I'm just not keen on getting bitten by one! I'd love to find some new scenic routes that don't include snakes.

ou just haven't tried if you haven't run up Jacob's Ladder next to Kings Park. It's not for the faint hearted! 43 metres of steepness - 300 steps of pain!
