WA is home to some amazing fresh produce which can be bought seasonally throughout the state. Aside from Woolies, Coles and IGA, do you have anywhere local to you that sources the freshest produce at a great price?
Perhaps you're giving home delivery a try from some of the farmers direct providers?
We'd love to hear where your procuring your 5 a day!
I seem to shop all over these days but enjoy the Wanneroo Markets, Coventry Village and Drovers. Lately Drovers at Wanneroo have been giving away free food! Just check out the large black chalk board above the entrance to see what is free when you visit. In the last few weeks we've had free butternut squash, free Brussel sprouts, bananas and mandarins.
For healthy organically-grown fruit and vegies you can't beat the Perth City Farm Markets which are held every Saturday from 8am until around 12 noon. It's got a great atmosphere with live music and other family entertainment, and they sometime hold yoga classes and other workshops as well. Visiting these markets makes shopping fun rather than a drudgery!
When I know I will be busy to do my grocery during the week, I order my fresh produce from Aussie Farmers Direct. Prices are quite reasonable and they always deliver very fresh fruits and veggies. The only thing I miss out from my local shop (Woolies) are the offers and everyday reward points. Other than that, I'm happy with the quality of my fresh produce and the delivery service. The website is www.aussiefarmers.com.au
We go sometimes to the Stirling Farmers Market, which is located at City of Stirling council offices in Cedric St, every Sunday morning only. Here you find lots of locally grown fresh produce at good prices.
