The price of a humble cup of coffee has long been making the news in Perth. Locals are appauled that they have to pay over $5 for their favourite latte when their eastern state neighbours can find a similar beverage but at a pocket friendly price nearer to $3.
Blame it on the mining boom, or blame it on local cafe owners just trying to cash in on the affluence of Perth. Either way $5 (and then some) is a lot to fork out for your coffee beverage. Pleasingly, there are still some bargains to be had on the hot drinks front, and a number of cafe's are advertising delicious coffees at Melbourne's prices.
Where have you found you can purchase a decent coffee in Perth, and still have change from a $5 note?

#Eating and Drinking The New Edition Bookshop on William Street do (are you sitting down?) coffee for $2.50 in the mornings. Yes, $2.50, and that's not a typo error. I'm a coffee snob - this coffee is lovely, super smooth and so's the service!
