Fair Trade

Over recent years there has been much debate over unfair trade practices that take advantage of the poverty and vulnerability of primary producers and artisans, especially in developing countries. By buying fair trade goods we can help to empower people who are at risk of such exploitation. Rather than the majority of the profit going into the pockets of a middle man, fair trade organisations enable primary producers and craftspeople to be paid a fair amount of money for their labours, thus enabling them to break the cycle of poverty and provide for their families in a dignified way.

Where are the best places to purchase Fair Trade goods in Perth? What kind of items do they sell? What eateries sell Fair Trade food and where can I buy Fair Trade groceries?

The only ones I am aware of in Perth are the Oxfam shops which are in fremantle and Perth.

You can also shop online, I believe.

Yes, there are not many around but the Oxfam store in the city is where I have bought some fair trade items. They sell coffee, chocolate, body care items as well as homewares.
Not sure if the Kaulaus Sisters would fall into this, however they come across as a business that will only deal with Fair Trade. They sell spices...and are in Nollamara!
