Isolated by desert and ocean, Western Australia contains some of Australia's most isolated and rugged wilderness areas. Even today, there are many beautiful places that are only accessible to off-road vehicles or by foot.

Have you ever been off-road driving, and if so, where have you been? In your opinion, where are the best places to go off-road driving, both near Perth and further afield?

The Canning Stock Route (Wiluna to Hall's Creek) is legendary, although you'd need to have a substantial amount of time to tackle it. There are some great drives up in the Kimberley and Pilbara regions too.
There are a number of places north of Perth around Lancelin!
I know it is pretty far outside of town, however I believe there are some great places near Jurien Bay. Only 2 hours north of Perth - so it would call for a whole weekend away! ;)
