Perth usually receives its greatest downpour of rain during the late winter and early spring, and it's at this time of the year that several picturesque waterfalls can be seen in the Perth Hills.

What is Perth's most spectacular waterfall? Where is it situated and is it easy to access? Is it running throughout the year, or just after heavy rain?

The Lesmurdie Falls are nice though I don't know how big they are at the moment due to the amount of rain we have had.

The Ellis Brook Reserve is a 60 ft waterfall and also the Serpentine though I don't think Serpentine is a particularly good one.

Personally I really like the Serpentine Falls, provided that there has been plenty of recent rain. The large rock pool at the bottom, surrounded by canyon walls, reminds me a bit of the gorges up in the north of the state. If it hasn't rained recently, they're a bit dismal, but then so are most of the other waterfalls in the Perth area.
I think Hovea Falls is one of the most spectactular waterfall in the Perth Hills.
