Do you have to drive a long way to get to work?

How many kilometres?

Does this bother you, or do you get used to it?

With the amount of traffic congestion, and the advances in communication, working from home is a brilliant option if your profession allows it. Having done the comment-to-work crawl up and down the freeway for years, this year I'm trialling working from home. It's amazing to think that years ago, anything further south than Kwinana was considered a weekend away - now people make the drive every day. They must lose hours of their life every day...
I do voluntary work which is about 10 minutes drive from home, which turns into 20 minutes in the afternoons at 5 pm!

I don't think I could have a job that involved driving more than about 20 minutes as I do not like driving, am impatient on the road, and it is such wasted time out of a day especially if you work full time.

I am on the road everyday. It is part of my job. And believe me I have seen all times of traffic and drivers. Do I like it - yes! You get days like this when things are just perfect! That is something to remember when you have not such great days! ;)
When I was working, I was always lucky enough to find work very close to home. I have driving! I have a friend who travels 40 mins one way to her job, I couldn't stand it!
When I did work, it was a 7klm drive to closest Rly Stn, then 20-25 minutes on train, then 10 mins walk to work.
Just did the reverse, to go home.
Did this for 39 years!
I haven't worked for 43 years, & my last job was only 7k's away, as was my voluntary job, some time later. But because I had to use public transport, I was away all day, for only 3 hrs of volenteering!
