I was not awake at 6 am so did not see it however a friend of mine who used to work at the Sydney Observatory sent me an email asking if I had seen it.
This was indeed funny as she is my travelling companion and knows I woudl not be up in winter at 6 am looking at the sky!
The image was recorded by Curtinís Fireball Network camera at Badgingarra and the article I was sent is as follows:
The observation is consistent with an extraterrestrial rock coming through the atmosphere, and the Fireball Network crew are hard at work to determine whether and where a meteorite is likely to have landed. In the meantime we would love to hear from anyone else who saw this event.
