Perth is a family friendly city. There is an abundance of child friendly activities and locations for kids to enjoy, many of which are free. Amongst this array of things to do with your children, playgrounds feature very highly, not least based on the fact that playgrounds in Perth no longer just offer the humble slide and swing combo. Oh no, instead your kids are in for a treat in the form of pirate ships, flying foxes, climbing walls and even a volcano (in one particular playground). Which is your favourite playground in Perth? Or should I rephrase that, which playground do you kids beg to get taken to weekend after weekend after weekend?
I really like the volcano playground at Falkland Park near Belmont. It's a bit of a hike for us but the playground has everything a little kid might enjoy. Highlights include a steaming volcano, slides, diggers, water play, flying fox and a great height appropriate toddler area. Nearer to us Mawson Park at Hillary's (Spider-Man Park) is great for its array of climbing structures and Mueller park in Subi is just perfect for toddlers.
I've always loved the playground at Bayswater Riverside! When the kids get bored with playing on the play equipment, there are plenty of paths along the river and across the grassy expanses where they can run, play or cycle. Environment House, which is right next door at 125 King William Street, often has children's gardening workshops which are great for the littlies, so that can also be included in the outing.
