From time to time we all get tired and run down, due to overwork and the pressures of everyday life, and a great way to rejuvenate and energise ourselves is to enjoy a therapeutic massage. There are various styles, originating in many places around the world, which have different health benefits and which include Swedish, Thai, hot stone, shiatsu and kahuna, as well as more modern remedial types.

Here in Perth there are many studios, day spas and private practitioners that offer various kinds of remedial massage. Which ones do you recommend and how much do they cost? What places offer the best value?

I have a regular massage and mostly buy them now online when they are on special.

I am finding that these places are cheap however without the half price special, they are quite expensive.

I am used to having a massage for an hour for under $50 in the country, however have not found one that I like at anywhere near this price and I find it is a bit of a rip off at $100 for 50 minutes to an hour.

I agree some are really pricey. I had a gift voucher for a 30 minute massage at Essential Beauty which was worth $80. Ridiculous!
There's a remedial massage clinic connected to Central TAFE (Building 2, 30 Aberdeen Street in Northbridge) where you can get a massage for just $30.00 by one of the Diploma of Remedial Massage students. Although the students are still learning, there is always a fully qualified massage therapist available to answer any questions you may have.
That's great!
But parking would be a problem there?

A few years ago I went to Hidden Valley in Pickering Brook. They have eco lodges to stay in or you can go for treatments or a day spa. I had the day spa package which was a massage(my first ever!), use of a spa suite for 2 hours, lunch with champagne and chocolates, a facial, foot treatment and pedicure for $120! They often have deals on Scoopon and I would highly recommend them.
