Floreat Beach. Went there for the first time recently, and loved it.
Hillary Boat Harbour because it has a nice location to swim, great view and if you are short of anything you can just pop into the shops! ;)
Rockingham has some nice spots, and the water is nice and shallow for the kids to play in.
There are heaps of great spots, so it's hard to know which one to vote for! Anywhere close to nature is always a winner, so your barbecue can be combined with a bit of healthy exercise or even just relaxing, chatting and watching the sun set.

Perth Hills has lots of great spots including the Beelu National Park (either overlooking Mundaring Weir or at the Perth Hills Centre), John Forrest National Park (there are heaps of great spots here!) and the Serpentine National Park. There are many lovely parks and gardens along the Swan River and these usually have some great picnic and barbecue spots, as well as some awesome playgrounds for the kids. Finally, Perth has some amazing beaches and right along the coastline there are some great parks close by with barbecues and to-die-for views over the Indian Ocean. My favourites are at Cottesloe Beach and Triggs Beach.
